Jim Ellis, MD, FACEP

President


Dr. Ellis is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He is the emergency physician for the Atlanta Falcons and also the coordinator of team medical care at the Super Bowl for Medical Sports Group. At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Dr. Ellis was co-chairman of the Olympic Medical Support Group and medical director of the Olympic Stadium. He currently is working with Sochi 2014, the site of Russia’s Winter Olympic Games.

Eric Ossman, MD, FACEP


Dr. Eric Ossmann is an Emergency Physician practicing in Durham North Carolina.
He graduated form the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine with Institutional Honors and admission to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He is a Board Certified Emergency Physician who completed his training at Methodist Hospital / Indiana University where he was elected Chief Resident in his final year. Subsequently, He completed a fellowship in emergency medical services at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte North Carolina.

Dr. Ossmann began his academic career at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. He was co-founder and co-director of the Section of Prehospital and Disaster Medicine. While at Emory he served as the EMS clerkship director, EMS fellowship director and the medical director of Grady Emergency Medical Service. During this time he was appointed to the State of Georgia EMS Medical Directors Advisory Council and the Region III EMS Council.

Dr. Ossmann has been involved in emergency medical services at the local, state and national level throughout his career. He is the current chair of the American College of Emergency Physicians EMS Committee. Additionally, he has been involved nationally with the National Association of EMS Physicians and is a member of the U.S. Metropolitan Municipalities EMS Medical Directors Consortium. His current research interests include access to emergency medical care and EMS utilization.
He has worked part-time at the CDC in the Division of Injury Response (DIR) as a visiting scientist since 2008. His current areas of focus at DIR include: refinement of the Field Triage Decision Scheme for Trauma Patients, development of a predictive injury algorithm for vehicles equipped with advanced automatic crash notification technology and trauma system development.

Ian Greenwald, MD, FACEP


Ian Greenwald is a board-certified emergency physician practicing in Durham North Carolina. Dr. Greenwald was on faculty at Emory University in the Department of Emergency Medicine, Section of Pre-Hospital and Disaster Medicine. He served many operational roles at Emory, including Director of the Clinical Decision Unit, Assistant Director of the Emergency Department at Emory University Hospital and as the Medical Director for multiple fire and EMS services in metro Atlanta.

Dr. Greenwald received his undergraduate degree from Binghamton University. He graduated Alpha Omega Alpha from the University Of Vermont College Of Medicine. He received his residency training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. Following residency he was a fellow in EMS and Disaster Medicine with the Fire Department of New York where he also served as Assistant Medical Director. In 2006 His strategic planning and operations portfolio also includes serving as the Medical Director for the 2006-2008 Tour de Georgia (seven stage professional world-class cycling event) and the 2007 & 2008 ING Georgia Marathon.

Dr. Greenwald has been a commissioned officer in the United States Army since 1999. He has served as an Emergency Physician in both forward and rear positions during Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. He continues to serve as active reservist.
